Detrust is a movement that seeks to progress the aims of the anti-authoritarian left through approaches without interpersonal trust assumptions.
Rather than trusting anonymous participants on the network to follow through on indicated intentions, we make use of incentively-sound systems such as decentralised oracles to remove the need for the former.
We believe anonymity and lack of a need for interpersonal trust in this context allow us to scale far easier.
We are anti-hierarchical, both in our means and ends.
We assume any participant on the network can be a bad actor but reject trust metrics or reputation as being necessary to enable on-chain collective action. Instead, we favour permissionlessness and circumvent bad actors through incentives.
We are post-trust anarchists, libertarian socialists and others on the left.
We are non-idealistic and primarily focused on the here and now.
